Last summer I went to the home of a new customer on a sales call. A previous company had come out and told her that the system had a bad compressor and that the air conditioning system needed to be replaced. However, upon my inspection, I pointed out to her that the fresh air intakes for both air conditioning units were disconnected and capped off. She went into an explanation that the previous company who capped off the intakes stated this was necessary to keep from losing more evaporator coils. While in my head I am thinking-WRONG...

In my twenties, I spent a lot of time doing service calls in some of the tallest buildings in downtown Baton Rouge. Some of the mechanical rooms inside these buildings are a sight to see. They are full of heavy industrial equipment from pumps to chillers and steel piping everywhere! Have you ever been in a large commerce building that is vacant? It can be a bit eerie and creepy quiet.
